Julien JEAN-ZAYATZ
Director of Tea Travel
Julien Jean-Zayatz is a French-American filmmaker of Italian and Eastern European descent, born in Boston and raised in the Normandy countryside. After graduating from high school, he began studying Image Science in Paris. Simultaneously, he developed his own small film projects to acquire hands-on experience, which confirmed his passion for storytelling. With his multicultural roots, he was always curious about living abroad.
After a few years in the media industry in the French capital, Julien relocated to Spain, near Valencia, where he worked as a freelance videomaker and editor. His experiences there inspired his very first short film, completed in 2025, Tea Travel, which already won an award at its very first film festival appearance, the International Sound and Film Music Festival in Croatia, where ACADEMY AWARD, BAFTA, and CÉSAR AWARD winners were present to celebrate. Since its premiere, Tea Travel has continued to win awards in England and the United States of America.
